Ice Age: The Meltdown
The trio of unlikely friends from Ice Age—Manny the mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo), and Diego the saber-toothed tiger (Denis Leary)—have seemingly found a safe harbor, only to find it menaced by climate change in this lively sequel that captures the mixture of wit, slapstick, and sentiment of the original film. Joining the Ice Age gang this time are Seann William Scott and Josh Peck as a pair of energetic opossums and Queen Latifah as their “sister,” a mammoth who thinks she’s an opossum.

Screenings
The Parent Trap
Hayley Mills stars in a dual role in this family comedy classic, as identical twins separated by divorce who accidentally reconnect at summer camp and plot to reunite their parents. This heartwarming farce was one of the top box office hits of its year, and decades later Mills reprised her roles for three TV movie sequels. The film features original songs by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman (Mary Poppins) and received Oscar nominations for its film editing and sound. Shot on location—primarily in idyllic California vacation spots like Big Bear Lake, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Lake Arrowhead—this delightful classic is the perfect way to jumpstart your summer vacation.

The Great Outdoors in 35mm
Comedy legend John Candy is Chet Ripley, a good-natured midwestern family man who plans a relaxing lakeside vacation in a Wisconsin cabin with his wife and two sons. When his irritating, wealthy brother-in-law, Roman (Dan Aykroyd), appears unannounced with his wife and kids, these wildly different families try their best to suffer each other’s company. This final collaboration between the film’s screenwriter John Hughes and its director Howard Deutch offers an equal mix of antics and heart, sprinkled with the tiniest pinch of adult humor and rounded out with a startling fireside story that prints the legend.

Addams Family Values in 35mm
This sequel reunites the entire cast from The Addams Family (1991), expanding it further when Morticia and Gomez (Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia) have a third child and decide to hire a nanny. Enter Debbie Jellinsky (Joan Cusack), whose true intentions are to marry Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) and murder him to inherit his wealth. To distract the too-wise older children Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman), Debbie convinces Morticia and Gomez to send them to Camp Chippewa, the worst nightmare for two staunchly indoor kids. Perfect for every goth child and their adults, this sequel has a darker edge than the first film, likely leading to its growing status as a cult classic.

With plenty of antics to entertain children and enough clever visual gags to appeal to adults—Snoopy, Charlie, and Woodstock are briefly styled like Peter Fonda, Jack Nicholson, and Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider—this animated classic, the third feature-length adaptation of the revered comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, takes the Peanuts outside their hometown and out into the wilderness for the first time.

The Wild Thornberrys Movie in 35mm
Forget your typical summer camp: for the Thornberry family, every day is a camping trip! For five seasons on Nickelodeon, television nature show host Nigel Thornberry and his filmmaker wife, Marianne, traveled the globe with their family. In this feature-length film adaptation, the Thornberrys are on safari in Kenya when precocious daughter Eliza finds she can suddenly communicate with animals. None of the spunk of the series is lost by carrying the maximalist Klasky-Csupo character design into the feature film format, and this action-packed story proved to be a critical darling, earning an Oscar nomination for Original Song with “Father And Daughter” by Paul Simon.

Daddy Day Care in 35mm
When Charlie Hinton (Eddie Murphy) loses his high-powered marketing job and is forced to pull his son from an expensive private school, he decides to open a daycare center with the help of other unemployed fathers. And if you’ve ever wondered what Eddie Murphy looks like dressed as a stalk of broccoli, this movie makes that dream come true.
