Woman of Fire (화녀)

Post-screening conversation with Youn Yuh-jung, moderated by writer-director Lee Sung-jin.

In person: Youn Yuh-jung.

Kim Ki-young’s cult classic Woman of Fire, the second chapter of Kim’s Housemaid Trilogy, is Youn Yuh-jung’s debut film. Brutal vengeance stemmed from a love triangle that motivates harmful desire and aggression is manifested through the dramatized chemistry exchanged and together intensified by the bold performances of Youn and the rest of the cast. Youn is daring, mesmerizing, and unforgiving, aligned with unforgettably vivid and picturesque visual compositions surrounding this grotesque, suspenseful “love story.”
