Where the Wild Things Are

Where the Wild Things Are

Young Max (newcomer Max Records), frustrated by his home life and a mom who doesn’t understand him, turns his bedroom into a fantastical land inhabited by mysterious creatures he attempts to tame. This live-action adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s celebrated children’s classic remains faithful to the book while presenting an immersive world with a contemporary spin, thanks to Spike Jonze’s unique sensibility, co-writer Dave Eggers’s strange, alluring prose, and an of-the-moment score from composer Carter Burwell and indie powerhouse Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
