Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

Tim Burton was inspired by Russian folklore for this stop-motion musical, directed with Mike Johnson, about a mild-mannered young Victorian whose engagement to the daughter of impoverished aristocrats is imperiled when he encounters a beautiful dead woman in a haunted forest. A worthy successor to The Nightmare before Christmas and a nominee for Animated Feature Film, Corpse Bride benefits from its typically striking Burton imagery and a lively score from Danny Elfman.
