The Untouchables

The Untouchables

Prohibition agent Eliot Ness takes on Al Capone and his Chicago gangsters in this stylish thriller, loosely inspired by Ness’s autobiography and the popular 1960s TV series of the same name. Kevin Costner stars as Ness, supported by a lively cast including Andy García and Charles Martin Smith as his fellow “Untouchables,” a chilling Robert De Niro as Capone, and Sean Connery in his Oscar-winning performance as Ness’s mentor Jim Malone. The Untouchables was the first of three films Ennio Morricone scored for director Brian De Palma, and his stirring music earned the composer his third Original Score nomination.
