Silver Linings Playbook
Silver Linings Playbook
David O. Russell directed and wrote the screenplay for this offbeat romantic comedy, based on the novel by Matthew Quick, about a former mental patient who moves back in with his parents and hopes to reunite with his ex-wife, only to find an unexpected connection with a policeman’s young widow. Jennifer Lawrence won a Best Actress Oscar and Bradley Cooper—who graduated from The Actors Studio Drama School and then went on to become a member of The Actors Studio—was nominated for Best Actor for the performance that helped establish him as a movie star. Robert De Niro (another member of The Actors Studio) and Jacki Weaver were also nominated in supporting roles as Cooper’s parents.
