Seven Beauties

In 1975, Lina Wertmüller became the first woman to be nominated for Directing for her film Seven Beauties, which she also wrote. Set in Fascist Italy, the story centers on a small-time crook and fool who makes a living off his seven sisters in Naples (while proclaiming to protect their honor).

Set in Fascist Italy, the story centers on a small-time crook and fool who makes a living off his seven sisters in Naples (while proclaiming to protect their honor). When he is arrested for murder, he ends up in the army and then a German concentration camp. There, he plots his escape by any means necessary, including using his body.
