Christopher Nolan’s first feature film made in the US is a dazzlingly conceived and executed thriller about a man (Guy Pearce) seeking revenge for the death of his wife who finds himself an unwitting pawn in the hands of those who pretend to help him, with the narrative told in reverse order to reflect the hero’s amnesiac condition. Produced by the team of Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd, this brain-teasing deconstruction of classic noir earned Oscar nominations for Original Screenplay for Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, and for Dody Dorn’s film editing.
