Kiss Me Kate

Kiss Me Kate

Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, the filmed version of Kiss Me Kate is based on the 1948 Broadway musical of the same name; both feature the same catchy songs by composer Cole Porter, including the classic “Too Darn Hot.” Best remembered for its stunning dance numbers, Kiss Me Kate briefly features a young Bob Fosse in the first filmed number he had a hand in choreographing, thanks to Kate’s credited choreographer, Hermes Pan, Fred Astaire’s longtime collaborator for over two dozen pictures.
