June Drop-In Workshops for Families: Puppetry and Pride

June Drop-In Workshops for Families: Puppetry and Pride

Join us in the Shirley Temple Education Studio for a family workshop inspired by puppetry and celebrating Pride Month!

The Education team invites families to join museum educators every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to create, learn, and have fun!

June’s Drop-in Workshop for Families is inspired by puppetry and celebrates Pride Month! Puppetry has been a staple in filmmaking for iconic characters like the Muppets, variations of the story of Pinocchio, and is often featured in stop-motion animation. Join us in the Shirley Temple Education Studio to design and create your own puppet with a unique look and personality to celebrate the themes of pride, which include loving and embracing each other’s differences!

Join us anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level. On June 8 we will be in the Netflix Lounge on Level 2.

On June 1, we will be joined by the Bob Baker Marionette Theater for a Puppets and Pride marionette show after the workshop at 2:30pm in the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby!

Workshop Dates:
Saturday, June 1, 8, and 15

Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes!

If you have any questions or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
