Steven Spielberg’s second feature film as a director was a disaster-plagued production that nevertheless resulted in one of the most enduringly popular films of all time. Police chief Brody (Roy Scheider) is forced to confront the Great White terrorizing his island town, calling in marine biologist Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and fisherman Quint (Robert Shaw) to put their lives on the line to save the residents and tourists of Amity Island. A box office record-breaker as well as a Best Picture nominee, Jaws earned Oscars for its film editing, sound, and John Williams’s thrilling score. This 3D release has been personally supervised by Steven Spielberg.
