Finding 'Ohana

Finding 'Ohana

Special guest: Introduction by director Jude Weng.

A summer in rural O'ahu takes an exciting turn for two Brooklyn-raised siblings, Pili (Kea Peahu) and Ioane (YouTube star Alex Aiono), when a journal pointing to long-lost treasure sets them on an epic adventure with new friends, and leads them to reconnect with their Hawaiian heritage. Screening in honor of National Native American Heritage Month, this Hawai'i-based update on the adventure classic The Goonies (1985) is overhauled with geocaching, an awareness of the digital-age generational divide, and commentary on our addiction to technology.
