Film as a Teaching Tool Part 2

Join the Academy Museum for a two-part workshop created to equip families with tools to discuss uncomfortable or challenging imagery found in movies.

A two-part workshop for families and caregivers that will use film as a teaching tool to have meaningful conversations and explore the power of imagery and storytelling. This two-day event will encourage caregivers to ask questions, create learning opportunities around language, and equip families with the tools to discuss uncomfortable or challenging imagery found in film. Participatory workshops will provide interactive resources and engagement practices around meaningful dialogue. Caregivers will feel empowered to create community among themselves, develop deep meaning-making around film, and walk away with increased skills and confidence. There is no cost to participate, but registration is limited. ASL interpretation will be provided.
