One of Broadway’s most perennially popular musicals, based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, received a faithful and emotionally resonant film adaptation, receiving three Oscars and eight nominations including Best Picture. Best Actor nominee Topol plays Tevye, the father of five strong-willed daughters, who struggles with unexpected change both within his family and from the world outside.
