Drop-In Workshops for Families: Pre-cinema Optical Illusions

Join us in the Shirley Temple Education Studio to learn about the different optical illusion devices created in the early days of cinema and create their own!

Man and child looking through Zoetrope

The Education team invites families to join museum educators every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to create, learn, and have fun!

Join us for May’s Drop-in Workshop for Families inspired by our interactive pre-cinematic devices, such as the zoetrope, praxinoscope, and thaumatrope in the Lower Lobby. Families can create their own optical illusion toys with us!

Join us anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.

Workshop Dates: Saturday: May 11 and 18

Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes!
