Drop-In Workshops for Families: Animation

Drop-In Workshops for Families: Animation

Join us in the Shirley Temple Education Studio to create characters from your favorite films using upcycled and discarded materials.

The Education team invites families to join museum educators every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to create, learn, and have fun!

March's Drop-in Workshops for Families focuses on animation inspired by our screenings of Oscar-winning animated short films and featured animation in the Inventing Worlds and Characters: Animation gallery in the Stories of Cinema exhibition on Level 3. Animation is a filmmaking art form where animators begin with many still images that they then assemble to create movement, and eventually those images become a movie. Join us in the Shirley Temple Education Studio to learn about the process, techniques, and tools used in animation and create your own artwork!

Join us anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.

Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes!

A separate museum admission ticket is required. Children 17 and under are free.

If you have any questions, or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
