Drop-in Workshop for Teens: Stop-Motion Claymation

Drop-in Workshop for Teens: Stop-Motion Claymation

Create your own stop-motion Claymation short video inspired by stop-motion animated films featured in our Inventing Worlds and Characters: Animation gallery, part of our Stories of Cinema exhibition.

The Education team invites teens to join museum educators on the third Friday of every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings, explore the museum, hang out, and get creative.

We will be creating stop-motion Claymation short videos. Be inspired by films featured in our Inventing Worlds and Characters: Animation gallery, on Level 3, part of our Stories of Cinema exhibition.

Visit the gallery to see character puppets and concept drawings from definitive Claymation films, The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Kubo and the Two Strings(2016), and Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave (1995).

Meet us on Friday, November 18, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level. Workshops are designed for teens ages 14 and up. Snacks will be provided.

All workshops are free with museum admission and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum admission is free for youth ages 17 and under with advance reservation.

Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes. If you have any questions, or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
