The Education team invites teens to join museum educators on the third Friday of every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings, explore the museum, hang out, and get creative.
For our March Drop-In Workshop, we will explore Foley art! Teens can explore Foley art in our sound booth and Foley room in the Shirley Temple Education Studio, using different objects and techniques to create sounds matching various clips from Oscar-winning films. For inspiration, visit the Sound gallery in our Stories of Cinema exhibition on Level 2, featuring an 11-minute piece titled “Boulder Roll,” which explores how the audio was created and assembled during a scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). We encourage teens to check out this piece before joining the workshop.
Meet us on Friday, March 15, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level. Workshops are designed for teens ages 14 and up. Snacks will be provided.

All workshops are free with museum admission and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum admission is free for youth ages 17 and under with advance reservation.

Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes.
