Drop-In Workshop for Families: Ghostly Prop Making Inspired by William Castle

Join us for a ghostly prop-making family workshop inspired by William Castle.

The Education team invites families to join museum educators every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to learn, create, and have fun!

Our October Drop-In Workshops for Families are inspired by the William Castle films screening in our Family Matinees series in October: The Tingler (1959) and House on Haunted Hill (1958). William Castle was known for directing eerie movies and attracting audiences to movie theaters through his gimmicks from the 1940s to the late 1960s. Castle’s fun tricks in the theater included zapping people in their seats and suspending skeletons and creatures from the ceiling! This month, families can create their own ghostly props that could be a perfect fit for a haunted house or William Castle gimmick!

Join us anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.

Workshop Dates:
Saturdays, October 7 and 21

Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes!
