The Education and Public Engagement team invites visitors to explore Stories of Cinema, the Academy Museum’s ongoing core exhibition that presents diverse, international, and complex stories of moviemakers and the works they create.

Join museum educators on Friday afternoons to explore highlights on moviemakers and movie objects.

In April, our Drop-In Tours will focus on the Stories of Cinema gallery Inventing Worlds and Characters: Encounters. Museum educators will explore the movie monsters, costumes, props, and much more within this gallery. These highlighted conversations will range from unique themes and designs, to elements of the moviemaking process. Visitors are encouraged to venture into the depths with the Amphibian Man, fight back against the empire with R2-D2 and C-3PO, and journey through sci-fi history with Ben Burtt’s Behold installation.

All are welcome to join this public drop-in style gallery conversation, free with admission, from 1pm to 3pm. Meet educators in Stories of Cinema, on Level 3 in the Rolex Gallery.

If you have any questions, or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
