Program Series: Drop-in Tours

Drop-In Tours: Latinx on View

Join museum educators on Friday afternoons to highlight the creativity of movie objects and moviemakers.

Repeated Event: Oct 6–Oct 20, 2023

Significant Movies and Moviemakers: Lourdes Portillo

In October, our Drop-In Tours will spotlight Latinx voices in film. Museum educators will explore films and filmmakers such as documentarian Lourdes Portillo and the scripts of Mosquita y Mari (2012). Conversations with educators may also include the Impact/Reflection gallery highlighting the work of activist Dolores Huerta before the formation of the National Farm Workers Union and objects from the films of Guillermo del Toro in the Inventing Worlds and Characters: Encounters gallery. All are welcome to join these public drop-in style gallery conversations, free with admission, from 1pm to 3pm.   If you have any questions, or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
