Program Series: Calm Mornings
Calm Morning: Strange World
Join us for sensory-friendly gallery exploration and a family workshop inspired by the accessible screening of Strange World (2022).

We invite visitors to our Calm Mornings program on Saturday, June 28, from 9am to 1pm, with a 10am workshop inspired by the film, Strange World (2022 )! ASL interpretation will be provided.
Schedule
9–10am | Early Gallery Access
Explore the galleries in our new exhibition, Barbie to Anna Karenina: The Cinematic Worlds of Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer, on Level 3, where sound and lighting adjustments will be made for a more sensory-friendly viewing experience.
10am–1pm | Family Workshop
Visit the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level for a workshop inspired by the accessible screening of Strange World (2022). Families can imagine what their own worlds would look like in a movie inspired by today’s screening and... the galleries in our new exhibition, Barbie to Anna Karenina. We will explore world-building in filmmaking and create mood boards.
In addition to the Calm Mornings program, we encourage visitors to attend our accessible, open-caption screening of Strange World (2022) at 11am in the Ted Mann Theater. The screening is part of our weekly Family Matinees film series. A separate admission ticket is required.
The Shirley Temple Education Studio will remain open during the screening as a space for relaxation and continued art making until 1pm.
