About the Exhibition
This gallery presents historical and contemporary footage of past Oscars ceremonies sourced from the Academy Film Archive. The 18-minute montage features iconic ceremony locations, glamorous red-carpet arrivals, moving acceptance speeches, and memorable performances and hosts from nearly 100 years of Oscars history.
Leading up to this year’s ceremony, the Academy Museum is offering a season of public programming that includes panel discussions with nominated filmmakers, screenings of all of this year’s nominated short films and a selection of winning features, guided gallery tours, and more. Visit the galleries on Level 2 to view Oscar statuettes, memorabilia, speeches, and Academy Awards fashion. Accept an Oscar of your own in The Oscars® Experience, an immersive environment that places you onstage with a real Oscar statuette, presented in the East West Bank Gallery. The season culminates in the Official Oscars® Watch Party on March 15, where guests can share in the local and global excitement about the Oscars here at the Academy Museum.
