Exhibition Highlight Tours of Hayao Miyazaki

The Education and Public Engagement team invites visitors to explore Hayao Miyazaki, the Academy Museum’s inaugural temporary exhibition. This retrospective is dedicated to the work of celebrated Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, in collaboration with Japan’s Studio Ghibli, of which Miyazaki was a cofounder.

Join museum educators on Fridays to explore the work and creative process of Miyazaki. Discover more than 300 objects, including original imageboards, character designs, storyboards, layouts, backgrounds, posters, and animation cels from Studio Ghibli’s archives—including pieces on public view outside of Japan for the first time.

All are welcome to join this drop-in style gallery conversation from 1pm to 3pm. Meet educators in the exhibition, on Level 4 in the Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg Gallery. Capacity is limited to ensure social distancing in the galleries.

Tours in 2022 include Fridays through June 5.

If you have any questions or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
