Dressing Up the Stars Book Signing and Family Workshop

Join author Jeanne Walker Harvey for a reading and book signing of Dressing Up the Stars: The Story of Movie Costume Designer Edith Head followed by a family workshop.

The Academy Museum Education and Retail teams invite families to meet author Jeanne Walker Harvey for a book signing and reading of Dressing Up the Stars: The Story of Movie Costume Designer Edith Head.

Harvey will share the true story of how a shy miner’s daughter became one of the most legendary costume designers in Hollywood in this inspiring nonfiction picture book biography. Edith Head became the first woman to head a major Hollywood movie studio costume department and went on to win eight Academy Awards for costume design—her designs defined the style of an era.

After the reading and book signing, join museum educators for a costume design illustration workshop.
